Beth Scarvey

Beth Scarvey is a Consultant with CENTRE Health Partners. She has 13 years of managed care experience in the payor and multi hospital system settings. Her experience encompasses direct negotiation experience as well as corporate level executive managed care leadership. Beth is a strong believer that a successful managed care strategy includes: the development and implementation of a managed care contacting plan, a strong contract administration function and a contract compliance system. She has successfully implemented these integral components at two for-profit hospital companies with great success. She also has experience performing due diligence for hospital acquisitions as well as extensive experience with hospital product line profitability analyses.

Additionally, Beth has developed relationships on behalf of hospitals with employers through direct contracting initiatives. Beth also developed and functioned as the Executive Director of a Physician Hospital Organization (PHO). Her ability to develop relationships with the physicians was a critical success factor for the PHO.

Beth has been successful and has extensive experience in the following areas: managed care contracting, revenue cycle turn-around, development of PHOs and employer direct contractual relationships as well as hospital acquisition due diligence.

Beth’s strength is her focused approach to developing a managed care strategy. Her ability to assess the hospitals’ leverage points, review the market dynamics and perform a detailed financial review of the contracts enables her to respond with a strategy to improve managed care revenues in a short timeframe. Her continued focus on the strategic plan and its implementation has earned her recognition in the industry as a top performer.

Beth has most recently held the position of Corporate Vice President, Managed Care at a for-profit hospital company with hospitals located in the West, East Coast and Central regions of the country. In this capacity, she successfully developed and implemented managed care strategies that increased the rate component of managed care net revenue by over 10% for each of the last four fiscal years. This was more than double the industry average. She also was the Vice President, Managed Care for the Mid America region of the largest hospital company in the U.S. In this capacity, she negotiated managed care agreements with all major payors at above budgeted levels. 

Beth has a B.S. in Economics from the University of Tennessee at Chattanooga. She has presented as a guest lecturer on various managed care topics at Lipscomb University in its M.H.A. program.
