James Baker is a Healthcare Consultant of CENTRE Health Partners. He is a seasoned veteran in the health care industry with over 30 years of experience in senior management positions. He has witnessed and participated in the industry’s expansion, increased accountability, and growing complexity at both the corporate and community hospital levels.
Mr. Baker is a recognized industry leader as evidenced by his selection as Chairman of the Board of Governors of the Mississippi Hospital Association, National Board of Directors of the Healthcare Financial Management Association, Healthcare Executive of the Year in Mississippi, and numerous other awards and recognition.
Mr. Baker is a Fellow in the American College of Healthcare Executives, the pinnacle of professional development in the industry. As such, he is in an elite group of dedicated leaders who have demonstrated their competency through education and research. Only 10 per cent of ACHE affiliates are Fellows, a professional designation synonymous with Board Certification in healthcare management.
Mr. Baker specializes in providing interim senior management to stabilize and re-energize health systems. Specifically, he has extensive experience in providing qualified and reliable talent for hospitals providing such services as: - Interim CEO/COO due to turnover or incapacity of a hospital CEO/COO. This includes assisting the hospital’s governing body in the recruitment process for a permanent replacement.

He holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Accounting and Finance from Mississippi State University and Master’s degrees in both Business Administration and Hospital Administration from Mississippi College.
